Britten, Wagner and the ocean shape two protagonists who are both thrilling and cursed: Peter Grimes and The Flying Dutchman. Attached to their ships, moulded by the waves of literature and embraced by Debussy’s La Mer, we will dive into their lights and shadows. More water: the programme is completed with Respighi’s colourful Fountains of Rome. Romanticism, impressionism and naturalism swimming together.
