Two of the seven performances are already sold out, which takes place between 4 and 7 January with performers Christian Sánchez and Ana Dachs.

Next week, the Auditorio de Tenerife is hosting seven performances of Ghost, the musical. Two of the shows are already sold out. The musical is coming to the island for the first time from 4 to 7 January, with Christian Sánchez, who will play the role of Sam, and Ana Dachs as Molly.  Santa Cruz de Tenerife is the 31st city to see this production, which already has half a million spectators and 800 shows. This musical is an adaptation produced by the author of the film, the Oscar winner Bruce Joel Rubin.

After its successful residency over two seasons on the Gran Vía in Madrid and a tour around Spain, Ghost, the musical comes to the island with a cast formed by 17 performers, led by Sánchez and Dachs. Alberto Collado will play Carl, and Juls Sosa will play the enigmatic Oda Mae. Joan Mas is the criminal Willy López. Oscar Albert is the subway ghost and Joaquín Olivan is the hospital ghost. Esther Santaella and Belén Marcos play the sisters of Oda Mae. And the innocent Mrs Santiago is Maria Moreno.

Alongside the illusionist Paolo Carta, creator of the special effects in the musical Mary Poppins, the show includes striking special effects that make it possible to recreate memorable scenes from the film, such as the scene in which the ghost goes through the body of Oda Mae and the legendary scenes of Sam going through walls.

Under the musical direction of Carlos Arriezu, the spectator will be immersed for 41 scenes in the pop-rock of the 90's, without forgetting the iconic Unchained Melody. The choreography is directed by Chiara Vecchi, the script and lyric adaptation are by Silvia Montesinos, the costume design is by Felype de Lima and the characterisation is by Olaya Brandón. The lights in the work, designed by Valerio Tiberi, will recreate the nostalgia of New York twenty years ago.

Ghost is a timeless love story starring Sam and Molly, a couple in love whose happiness is cut short when a thief kills Sam. The spirit of Sam will resist leaving the world of the living and his great love. The need to save Molly's life means that he must remain in the form of a ghost to warn her about the danger she is in. His only form of contact is a peculiar fortune teller with whom he can communicate.

The film was written by Bruce Joel Rubin, Oscar winner for the film's script, which starred Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore and Whoopi Goldberg. Adapted for the theatre by Bruce Joel Rubin himself, the show came to Spain in a musical format in 2019 after its release in London and on Broadway. It has music and lyrics by Glen Ballard and Dave Stewart, the latter was the songwriter of the British group Eurythmics.

The show, which received the 2020 Broadway World Spain Award for Best Musical, is an original production directed by Federico Bellone, the artistic director of internationally renowned shows, notably including the Phantom of the Opera, Mary Poppins, by Disney and Cameron Mackintosh, a resounding success in Italy, Dirty Dancing and the musical Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

This show is a production of Letsgo, the producer and promoter, directed by Iñaki Fernández who is behind many shows such as The Phantom of the Opera, School of Rock, The Hole, Dirty Dancing, The Addams Family, Young Frankenstein, Kinky Boots, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and events such as Naturaleza Encendida (Nature Lit Up) and the immersive exhibition Tim Burton's Labyrinth.
