More than 4,300 schoolchildren from 53 schools will take part in this educational programme on Wednesday and Thursday.

This Friday [2nd], from noon, Sinfónica de Tenerife offers the family concert Cuentan las Voces (Voices Tell the Tale), under the direction of Jordi Navarro, with Ana Hernández Sanchiz as narrator and featuring soprano Natividad Oval, mezzo-soprano Silvia Zorita, tenor Jorge Cordero and baritone Andrés Darío. The Symphony Hall of Auditorio de Tenerife will host this performance, which is recommended for children over 6 years old.

The show is offered to more than 4,300 schoolchildren who will attend the two daily performances that take place on Wednesday (31) and Thursday (1), starting at 10:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. The school groups attending this proposal come from the island's municipalities of Arona, Candelaria, El Rosario, El Sauzal, Granadilla, Guía de Isora, Güímar, La Laguna, La Orotava, Los Realejos, Santa Cruz, Tacoronte and Tegueste.

The Symphony Orchestra invites the audience to join the musicians, becoming a choir that fills the hall while we learn the secrets of lyrical singing and the stories that the orchestra hides. These are secrets that will bring the audience closer to a varied repertoire of symphonic and vocal music of different styles: opera, zarzuela and song... through the voices of Canarian singers Natividad Oval, Silvia Zorita, Jorge Cordero and Andrés Darío.

The programme offered by the Sinfónica de Tenerife in its concerts for schoolchildren and families includes works by Federico Chueca, Manuel Penella, Amadeo Vives, Gaetano Donizetti, José Serrano, Juan Crisóstomo de Arriaga, Pablo Sorozábal, Georges Bizet and Juan José Falcón Sanabria.

Cuentan las voces is the second educational proposal of the Sinfónica de Tenerife during the current season after having performed El Circo de don Nicanor in November. The offer is completed on 11 May with Abemon (Cuando el agua suena...), a concert recommended for children aged 9 and over.

The tickets for the family concerts Cuentan las voces and Abemon (Cuando el agua suena...), priced at five euros, can be purchased on the website www.sinfonicadetenerife.es at the Auditorium's box office and by dialling the phone number 902 317 327 from Monday to Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
