WHY DO WE SING?

Why do we sing? This question does not have just one but hundreds of answers. Singing and music are with us every minute of our life, they help us deal with our emotions and give us a creative means of expression and communication.

The Cabildo de Tenerife, under its Tenerife 2030 Strategy, has started a new Escuela Coral de Tenerife course through the Education service. The course culminates in this concert. Choral singing allows us to relate to others a frankly, and makes us an essential part of a group working to create something as beautiful as music; with all this honesty, we are now showing the result of our work to all those coming to enjoy this concert.

The School started its second year last October, with the Adult Choir as the main new feature: a group of passionate people who for a few hours forget all about their problems, worries and routine to become one single voice. This new group joins the pre-existing Children, Pre-Juvenile and Young choirs which were already underway in the first year. Experimenting, learning, sharing, and growing. With nearly one hundred members, this year Escuela Coral de Tenerife has started using new rooms at Auditorio de Tenerife that are suitable to their activity; this new space makes for a much more enriching experience.

Welcome to those who are coming for the first time and to those who were here last year and enjoyed our talented students. We hope this to be an unforgettable experience and that you take home a pinch of the magic we feel in every rehearsal.
