The Chamber Hall is the venue for another ‘Primavera Musical’ event this Sunday.

The Chamber Hall of the Auditorio de Tenerife will host a concert with three new music bands on Sunday, 1 June, as part of the Primavera Musical cycle, organised by the wind bands federation ‘Federación Tinerfeña de Bandas’ with the support of the Tenerife Island Council. The event, starting at 11.30 p.m., will feature the participation of the concert bands from Candelaria, presenting a première, El Tanque and Valle de Guerra (La Laguna). Entry is free until the total capacity is reached.

Las Candelas will debut El diablo de Timanfaya by José Luis Peiró Reig. Previously, the ensemble will perform Concertpiece for Two Clarinets and Wind Band by Michel Mangani, with clarinet soloists Asier Ramos and Andrea Chico. The Candelaria municipal band, which will turn 50 next year, is led by Mauro Fariña Alonso, who has been its director since 2012.

The wind band ‘Agrupación Musical Santísimo Cristo del Calvario’, based in El Tanque, is set to perform three pieces for the public at the Auditorio de Tenerife this Sunday. Their recital will open with Bolero per a Lluís by Azael Tormo Muñoz, with Eduardo Dorta as tenor saxophone soloist. Following this, the ensemble will present the pasodoble Dorta Hispânico by Nuno Osório, featuring Samuel del Pino on trumpet. The programme will conclude with The Greatest Showman, in an arrangement by Paul Murtha. The band is marking its 30th anniversary, and it will be conducted by José Eduardo Morales Morales.

The first June recital of Primavera Musical will end with the wind band ‘Nuestra Señora de Lourdes’ from Valle de Guerra (La Laguna) on stage. Founded in 1995, just like the previous group, this collective is directed by Unai Jacob Marrero Simón and will present three pieces: Los barbas, by Ferrer Ferran; Alvamar Overture, by James Barnes and Benny Goodman Memories, arranged by Naohiro Iwai.

The second-to-last concert of this year’s Primavera Musical cycle in the Chamber Hall will be held on June 8, again at 11.30 am, with performances by the wind bands ‘Santa Cecilia’(Tacoronte), ‘Nuestra Señora de los Remedios’ (Buenavista), and ‘San Marcos Evangelista’ (Tegueste).
