Auditorio de Tenerife is privileged to have Orquesta Sinfónica de Tenerife (Tenerife Symphony Orchestra) as resident orchestra. It was founded in 1935 as Canaries Chamber Orchestra and in 1970 was given its current name. It now is a national and international benchmark orchestra.

SEASON 2026-2027

“I will seize fate by the throat; it will not defeat me completely.” This quote from Beethoven inspires the central theme of the Tenerife Symphony Orchestra’s 2026–2027 season: Freedom or Fate. At its heart lies one of the great questions of existence: to what extent do we choose our own path, and to what extent are we shaped by forces that precede or overwhelm us? Between will and fate, between rebellion and acceptance, between memory, loss, nature, love, and hope, music opens up a realm where freedom is celebrated and where even the inevitable is transformed into beauty. With this vision, we present a symphonic season of 18 subscription concerts.

Soloists such as Isabelle Faust, Truls Mørk, Seong-Jin Cho, Alexander Melnikov, Colin Currie, Ksenija Sidorova, Daniel Hope, Simon Trpčeski, Ian Bousfield, the Kebyart Ensemble, David Kadouch, and Francisco Fullana, among others, will perform. We will collaborate with the Intermezzo Choir – Tenerife Opera and the Community of Madrid Choir, with whom we will travel to the National Music Auditorium in Madrid in May 2027.

Conductors will include Pablo González (principal guest), Delyana Lazarova (artistic collaborator 2026/27), Víctor Pablo Pérez (honorary conductor), Ilan Volkov, Ana María Patiño, Karl-Heinz Steffens, Ariane Matiakh, Thomas Dausgaard, and other renowned conductors.

Highlights include Mahler’s Symphony No. 2, Beethoven’s Fifth, Tchaikovsky’s Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth, Janáček’s Sinfonietta, Strauss’s *Thus Spoke Zarathustra*, Elgar’s *Enigma Variations*, Shostakovich’s Fifth, and many other legendary works. There will also be new works by Helga Arias, Francisco Coll, and Fazıl Say.

The symphonic season is the centerpiece of the Tenerife Symphony Orchestra’s annual program, which includes over 90 public performances and, in addition to subscription concerts, features participation in the opera season, educational, social, and family concerts, chamber music, and many other extraordinary projects.

LANZADERA CULTURAL

Lanzadera Cultural, Al Auditorio en guagua.

The Tenerife Island Council has introduced the free shuttle service ‘Lanzadera Cultural’, providing complimentary transport for those attending Sinfónica de Tenerife concerts and the subscription performances of Ópera de Tenerife.

This collaborative effort involves two buses of TITSA that, on show days, leave from the south and north, heading to the Auditorio de Tenerife. Once the event is finished, there will be a 15-minute gap until the buses drive the route in the opposite direction.

To access this service, you must collect a bus ticket, purchased as a show. Instead of choosing a ticket option, select the name of the stop where you will join the journey. Whether you have a ticket for the show or have yet to buy one, you must collect this invitation to board the shuttle. Places on the shuttle service are limited and will be available until the day before the show at noon for the opera events, and until 11 p.m. for the symphony concerts.

Select the concert day and choose your stop to get your ticket at this link.

The following routes and estimated times of departure are offered:

Northern route: Departure from Buenavista at 5:15 p.m., with stops in Los Silos, Garachico, Icod de Los Vinos, San Juan de la Rambla, Los Realejos, La Orotava, Santa Úrsula, La Victoria, La Matanza and Tacoronte.
