The Educational and Social Area Department of the Auditorio de Tenerife launches its 2025–26 season with Coro Canguro (Kangaroo Chorus), a new project of the nonprofit organisation ‘Grandes Oyentes’. The project is an artistic and musical initiative for families and caregivers with newborn infants and toddlers (especially infants who have not yet learned to walk).

Coro Canguro takes place through a growing network of choruses throughout Spain. Using a special methodology created by Grandes Oyentes, families, artists and musicians of different genres are gathered together. Based on the benefits of music, voice, movement and creation, Coro Canguro promotes a healthy environment of growth for the infants and their adults by encouraging creative and entertaining experiences through structured sessions of choir singing, recording sessions, workshops and concerts that put the spotlight on artists and families.

In essence, Coro Canguro is enjoyment, wellbeing and connection: with your baby, with yourself, with other families, with artists and musicians and with music.

What’s involved?

The sessions are to take place in the Sala Multiusos multipurpose hall of the Auditorio de Tenerife. The hall is pram-friendly, features bathrooms and changing rooms located near the entrance and provides enough room to keep prams on hand.

The sessions shall include moments of instrumental music, corporeal dynamics and group vocals, group singing, time for families to mingle and freedom to stand up, walk, move about, breast-feed infants and have lunch, as each family sees fit.

Participating families shall be provided with the musical material of the Coro Canguro methodology for the sessions.

We recommend that families bring their infant carriers or baby slings.

Admission to this project of the Educational and Social Affairs Department is free of charge for participating families, but places are limited.
