Synopsis
Beethoven’s Fifth is more than a celebrated symphony. Its opening motif has been heard across generations as a summons from fate: brief, relentless and impossible to ignore. From this elemental musical idea, Beethoven traces a journey from darkness to light, from conflict to triumph, and from external pressure to a powerful affirmation of the human spirit.
This work occupies a central place in the season Freedom or Fate. In 2027, the musical world commemorates the bicentenary of Beethoven’s death, and the Sinfónica de Tenerife returns to a score whose expressive power remains undiminished.
The evening opens with Brahms’s Double Concerto, his final orchestral masterpiece. Written for violin and cello, it transforms conflict into dialogue and virtuosity into mutual understanding. Irina Peña and Ülker Tümer, soloists of the Sinfónica de Tenerife, bring this conversation of maturity, nobility and quiet emotional depth to life.
Presented by Nieves Concostrina, this concert explores how music can transform the experience of destiny into freedom.

Pre-concert talk
The Tenerife Symphony Orchestra will offer a pre-concert talk at 6:30 p.m. in the Sala Avenida (in the auditorium lobby) by José Lorenzo Chinea, from the Tenerife Association of Friends of Music (ATADEM). Admission is free until capacity is reached.
Tickets
Access to the hall is not permitted once the doors are closed for the event to begin.
Access is only allowed to those over five years of age.
