These three formations are the main feature of the second-to-last event in the Primavera Musical cycle.
This Sunday (8th), the wind bands of Tacoronte, Buenavista del Norte, and Tegueste will feature in the penultimate concert of the Primavera Musical cycles, held at the Auditorio de Tenerife and organised by the wind bands federation ‘Federación Tinerfeña de Bandas de Música’ with the support of the Tenerife Island Council. The event shall take place in the Chamber Hall, starting at 11.30 a.m. Entry is free until the total capacity is reached.
The wind band ‘Agrupación Musical Santa Cecilia’ from Tacoronte will open the concert. Founded in 1901, the ensemble appears at this event under the baton of Antonio Ordóñez Abreu, performing two pieces from its repertoire: La Xica by Saúl Gómez Soler and Fiesta Mediterránea by Manuel Lillo Torregrosa.
José Humberto Martín de Armas leads the ensemble’ Nuestra Señora de los Remedios’, which is nearing its hundredth anniversary. The wind band from Buenavista del Norte will play Cielo Andaluz by Pascual Marquina Narro, a medley of Duke Ellington works arranged by Stephen Bulla, and El sitio de Zaragoza by Cristóbal Oudrid y Segura.
Next, the wind band ‘Agrupación Musical San Marcos Evangelista’ from Tegueste has selected three pieces for their performance in this year’s Primavera Musical cycle. Conducted by Ismael Brajín González, the programme will open with Suspiros de España by Antonio Álvarez Alonso, continue with El Camino Real by Alfred Reed, and conclude with Malagueña by Ernesto Lecuona.
The ‘Primavera Musical’ cycle (Musical Spring Cycle) is an initiative started by the wind bands federation ‘Federación Tinerfeña de Bandas de Música’ in 2005 and has been maintained over the past two decades with the collaboration of the Tenerife Island Council.
Due to the Armed Forces Day events, access to the Auditorio de Tenerife will be restricted from June 2 to June 8. The public is therefore encouraged to arrive as early as possible.
