Adverse weather conditions have forced the cancellation of tonight’s performance of ‘Roméo et Juliette’ and tomorrow’s wind bands’ concert.

Due to the development of storm Therese, the Auditorio de Tenerife has cancelled today’s (Saturday 21) fourth performance of the opera Roméo et Juliette and tomorrow’s (Sunday 22) second concert of the Primavera Musical cycle. However, a final performance of the opera will be held on Sunday at 6 p.m.

The Auditorio acted on the Tenerife Island Council’s instructions under the PEIN emergency plan, aiming to prevent venue transit and to avoid mishaps due to inclement weather. As PEIN remains active until 6 a.m. tomorrow, an additional Roméo et Juliette performance is being considered, pending further guidance from the Emergency Department.

The Auditorio de Tenerife will give priority to Ópera de Tenerife subscription holders who missed the Thursday and Saturday performances. Any remaining seats will go on sale today (Saturday, 21) from 2 p.m. Refunds for cancellations will begin on Monday. Because of exceptional circumstances, the Lanzadera Ópera shuttle service will not be available this time.

Likewise, Sunday morning’s second Primavera Musical concert in the Chamber Hall, featuring the island’s municipal bands at the Auditorio de Tenerife, has been postponed. The concert by Las Candelas (Candelaria), Crearte de Tejina (La Laguna) and San Pedro (El Sauzal) will be rescheduled for a date still to be announced.
