Saturday’s performance pending development of Storm Therese
The Auditorio de Tenerife has cancelled today’s performance (Thursday, 19 March) of the opera Roméo et Juliette due to warnings of adverse weather triggered by Storm Therese. The fourth and final performance scheduled for Saturday (21 March) will depend on the storm’s development. The Primavera Musical concert (Musical Spring Cycle), slated for Sunday morning, is also contingent on the weather.
The Auditorio took the decision after receiving instructions from the Tenerife Island Council pursuant to the island’s PEIN emergency plan, to prevent transit to the venue and avoid any mishaps caused by the inclemency. The measure directly affects the estimated turnout of 1,400 spectators and the over 200 people involved in the play’s production.
Tickets had sold out for today’s performance, and two recent performances, and the Saturday performance is also nearly sold out. Refunds for cancellations are to begin on Monday, 23 March.
