He was born in Agost (Alicante), he undertook musical studies at the Royal Higher Music Conservatory of Music in Madrid and obtained brilliant scores in Solfège, Harmony and Percussion. He specialised in Percussion and was an assistant professor in the chair of his teacher José María Martín Porrás. He also studied Drums with Enrique Llácer "Rwegolí”.

He received a scholarship from the German Musical Youth to study with the teacher Sigfried Fink. He was also hired by the Spanish National Orchestra, Spanish Radio and Television, Tenerife Symphony Orchestra, City of Malaga Orchestra, the Royal Symphony Orchestra of Seville (ROSS), the Royal Philarmonic Orchestra and the Baroque Orchestra of Seville as a percussionist.

As a soloist he has performed with the City of Malaga Orchestra, the Seville Betic Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Luis Izquierdo, the Chamber Orchestra of the Cambrils Festival with Johannes Auersperg and the Orquesta Sinfónica Ciudad de la Alhambra with O. Balan.

He has collaborated with the Piano Duo Rentería-Matutes, in the sonata for two Pianos and Percussion of B. Bartok, as well as its recording on Spanish National Radio (RNE) and Spanish National Television (RTVE).

He has taught music pedagogy in Madrid, Valencia, Vigo and Alicante, as well as percussion conferences and concerts. With the group Koam, he has premièred a large number of contemporary music works by the main avant-garde music composers. He has also taught the Seville Municipal Band and the Betic Philharmonic Orchestra.

He held the Chair in Percussion at the Higher Conservatory of Music in Seville from the year 1972-73 up until his retirement in 2010-11.
