Yeol Eum Son's most outstanding qualities are poetic elegance and innate sensitivity. Her curiosity has driven her to explore an array of musical genres and styles, and she commands a broad repertoire that ranges from Bach and Mozart to Shchedrin and Kapustin.

She has worked with Lorin Maazel, Valery Gergiev, Antonio Pappano, Jaime Martín, Jun Märkl, Roberto González-Monjas, Jonathon Heyward, Ryan Bancroft, Pablo González, Pietari Inkinen, Joana Carneiro, Anja Bihlmaier, among others. In the 2023-24 season, she will play with the Deutsche Radio Philharmonie Saarbrücken Kaiserslautern and be on tour in South Korea, as well as concerts with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra and the Auckland Philharmonia. She will make her debut with the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, la NAC Orchestra, performing Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No. 2, the West Australian Symphony Orchestra and the Tenerife Symphony Orchestra.

In chamber music performances, she will play in Melbourne, Adelaide, Singapore, and at the Oeiras International Piano Festival in Portugal, among other venues.

Born in Wonju, South Korea, in 1986, Yeol Eum Son received her first piano lessons at the age of three. She attracted international attention upon winning second prize and being awarded for the best chamber music performance at the 2009 Van Cliburn Competition. She consolidated her position among the most gifted artists of her generation at the 2011 International Tchaikovsky Competition, where she won the Silver Medal and received the coveted competition prize for Best Chamber Concerto performance.

Her debut on the Naïve record label was in March 2023, when she released a box set of Mozart's complete piano sonatas.
