Praised as a “powerhouse of a player,” (Limelight Magazine) pianist Sergey Belyavsky is known for his vast and diverse repertoire, with an emphasis on compositions from the 19th and 20th centuries. He is described as demonstrating “an extraordinary expressive intelligence,” (Bachtrack) and has been called “one of the best pianists in the world today.”
Sergey received widespread recognition after winning prizes in numerous international piano competitions, including the Gina Bachauer International Arists Competition, the Budapest-Liszt, the Maria Canals, Premi Jose Iturbi, Paderewski-Bydgoszcz, Santa Cecília International Piano Competitions. More recently, he was awarded second prize and the audience prize at the 76th Concours de Genève as well as first prize at the 1st Malaga City International Piano Competition.
He has performed as a soloist in such venues as Victoria Concert Hall (Geneva), Abravanel Hall (Salt Lake City), Gewandhaus (Leipzig), Carnegie Hall (New York City), Sala Suggia Casa da Música (Porto), Salle Gaveau (Paris), Henri Le Boeuf Hall BOZAR (Brussels), Palau de la Música Catalana and L'Auditori (Barcelona), Auditorio Edgar Neville (Málaga) among many others.
Concerto highlights include appearances with internationally acclaimed orchestras such as the Czech National Symphony Orchestra, Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, the Hungarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, Orquestra Sinfónica do Porto Casa da Música, Daegu Symphony Orchestra, Orquestra Sinfonica del Valles, the Utah Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonie der Nationen, and Malaga Philharmonic Orchestra.
Belyavsky has released four solo CDs, most recently of Schubert and Liszt’s music, called “The Wanderer” on the KNS Classical label.
