ATSUKO TAKANO

Musical director and titular organist of the San Nicolás Church of Valencia, Atsuko Takano received training as a pianist and organist at Ferris University in Yokohama, Japan, obtaining the 'Prix d'Exellence' upon completion of her studies. In 2005, she moved to Germany to further her study of organ, clavichord and harpsichord at the University of the Arts Bremen, studying with H. Vogel, H. Davidsson, B. Röllecke, E. Belloti and U. Davidsson. In 2009, she continued her organ studies in el Conservatorium van Amsterdam con Jacques van Oortmerssen, where she graduated cum laude and gave her master's final recital on the famous Christian Müller organ of St. -Bavokerk in Haarlem. 

She was granted the prestigious Huygens scholarship of the Dutch Ministry of Education. She has won awards at diverse competitions, such as the International Arp Schnitger Organ Competition in Germany and the Westfield International Competition in New York. In addition, Takano has given numerous concerts as a soloist and accompanist throughout Europe, the United States and Japan, and she has made several recordings for national radio in the Netherlands, Germany and Spain. In 2016, she performed F. Schimdt's 'The Book with Seven Seals' as a soloist with the orchestra and the chorus of Spain's state-owned broadcaster RTVE. Since then, she has collaborated regularly with both ensembles.
