Daniel Oyarzabal

Organist

Daniel Oyarzabal has a long international career that he has cultivated for years with intense concert activity at prestigious festivals in more than 20 countries in Europe, Asia, Africa, and America. As a harpsichord and organ soloist (organ being his main instrument), he has performed in concert on important stages such as that of the Mariinski Theatre in Saint Petersburg, the Düsseldorf Opernhaus Opera House, the Estonia Concert Hall of Tallinn, the Auditorium of Lyon, the Palau de Les Arts Reina Sofía and the Palau de la Música of Valencia, The Gran Teatre del Liceu of Barcelona, the Royal Theatre and National Music Auditorium of Madrid, the Stiftbasilika of St. Florian in Austria, and the Cathedrals of Moscow, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Florence, León, and Seville, to name a few. A Cum Laude graduate of harpsichord and organ studies from the Conservatory of Vitoria-Gasteiz, his hometown, and having trained with the best European teachers in various postgraduate courses in the organ, harpsichord, and historical instruments at the Higher Conservatories of Vienna, The Hague, and Amsterdam, Oyarzabal has in his possession renowned awards, among which we can cite the Special Press Award at the National Exhibition for Young Performers in Ibiza (1991), First Prize at the International Music Competition in Rome (1998), and Third Prize at the XIX International Music Organ Competition of Nijmegen, Holland (2002). He is currently the lead organist of the National Orchestra of Spain and a professor of the Degree in Composition of Contemporary Music at the TAI/Rey Juan Carlos University of Madrid's School of Arts and Entertainment.
