The Hot Club of Tenerife

Filippo Dall'Asta is a guitarist, composer, bandleader, and arranger who was born in Italy and lived in Tenerife for several years, where he launched his most recent album, The Hot Club of Tenerife. The recording blends the sounds of Manouche jazz with bebop and classical music to forge his progressive guitar style. Founder of the coaching programmes Master Accelerator and Gypsy Jazz Guitar Makeover, Filippo began playing guitar at the age of five in Parma, Italy, and studied music in his country of birth as well as in Germany, France, the Netherlands and India. In 2010, at the age of 23, he moved to the United Kingdom, where he toured and recorded with legends such as Stochelo Rosenberg, Mozes Rosenberg, Wawau Adler, Joscho Stephan, Lollo Meier, Giacomo Smith, The Ayoub Sisters, Duved Dunayevsky, and contemporary musicians such as The Onironauts and Tara Minton (Björk), among others. On tour, he has travelled to Germany, India, Italy, France, Spain, England, Malta and Russia, with noteworthy performances in the Royal Albert Hall, the Glastonbury Festival, the UK Parliament, the Tower of London, the Union Chapel, and at numerous festivals in France and Italy. In 2020, through his parallel project 'Gypsy Dynamite', Filippo launched the album Café Dynamite with 10 original tracks that combine Manouche jazz, bebop and Latin and Mediterranean melodies. A critical success, the album has received praise such as 'an irresistible and unforgettable joy' from Jazz Journal UK.
