Gaston Core

Dance company

Born in Buenos Aires, Gaston trained as a performer and undertook university studies in the Audiovisual Communication degree at the University of Buenos Aires (UBA). Living in Europe since 2001, he continued training in both areas. In fact, he completed the Dramaturgy and Directing degree at the Institut del Teatre of Barcelona while collaborating with the European film producer and distributor Paco Poch. In 2008, he became interested in cultural management thanks to a specific training experience and he planned and directed a Street and Auditorium Arts Festival financed by the City Council of Terrassa and the Centre d’Arts Escèniques of the same city (CAET). He collaborated with different companies where he played the role of performer and director-dramatist until he decided in 2012 to focus his attention exclusively on the Hiroshima Hall project, which he conceived himself and which he continues to direct to date, emphasizing the support, production, and dissemination of the most innovative trends on the international contemporary scene. In 2018 he undertook an official Master's programme in Contemporary Thought at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Barcelona, something which reminded him of his interest in the rehearsal hall as a meeting place between thought and action, and he decided to return his attention to his work in the fields of direction, dramaturgy, and choreographic composition. Gaston Core is an Aerowaves 2022 artist.
