Idio Chichava
CHOREOGRAPHER, DANCER AND ART DIRECTOR
Idio Chichava is a Mozambican choreographer, dancer, and art director. He began his professional career in 2000 and soon after redirected his focus from traditional to contemporary dance by joining Culturarte y Danças na Cidade. From 2002 onward, he collaborated with African and European choreographers, including his work with Kublai Khan Investigations in France. In 2012, he founded Converge+ Dance Company in Maputo. In 2024, he was awarded the Salavisa European Dance Award.
