José Herrero graduated in Art History and music teaching from the University of La Laguna, and has been the conductor of the Camerata Lacunensis since 2000, with which he has achieved 27 awards, both national and international. Renowned as a composer, his music is performed by national and international choirs. He has also conducted different professional historicist groups. He frequently makes premieres of contemporary choral music by great composers. During the academic year 2017-2018 he taught at the Escuela Coral de Tenerife. He is a founding member of AEDCORO, created in October 2016 in Burgos. Currently he is part of the association´s board of directors. He teaches choral music courses and workshops and is regularly sought after as a jury member in national and international competitions.
