La_Compañía exlímite

La_Compañía exlímite is the culmination of a longstanding project that finally emerged in 2015 with its first show In November 2017, after finding a venue of its own for its undertakings, it restructured and merged with the project exlímite to become its resident performing arts group La_Compañía exlímite arose from the need to form a group or team of artists from the different disciplines involved in theatre for the purpose of creating dramatic art based on collaborative creation, risk-taking and commitment, with a clear focus on contemporary works. The group’s first work was ILIRIA, a coproduction based on Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, or What You Will, and written by Denise Despeyroux. The Bard’s original text was put through a process of research and deconstruction, combining it with a contemporary reading grounded in social networks, society, the liquid loves of Zygmunt Bauman, and the imagination of each member. This combination resulted in a hybrid show that rides the lines between classic and contemporary and performative and dramatic, in which music, movement, and the spoken word coexist in a precarious and extremely entertaining state of equilibrium. The show received special mention at the 2016 Almagro Off Festival and was nominated for the Max award for the best new show in 2017. In and of itself, La_Compañía exlímite is an experiment that explores what we can do together, how we listen, what we think, and the role each member of a group assumes. Theatre has always been a small-scale experience about communities and, at its core, a mirror: a privileged space that speaks to and raises questions before the community and the society in which it happens. Hence, in exlímite, each of us is considered an artist and creator in his or her field, and creation is about each individual's experience of being part of the group and projecting his or her voice through an artistic formation. FERNANDO DELGADO-HIERRO - AUTHOR AND ACTORHe studied script interpretation at RESAD drama school in 2013 and furthered his training with the Open Group of Jerzy Grotowski, the SITI Company of Anne Bogart, LAMDA (London Academy of Dramatic Arts), and instructors including David Zinder, Jeremy James, Fernanda Orazi, Pablo Messiez, Lucas Condró, Brigid Panet, Alfredo Sanzo, and Sol Garre.
