Born in Pietrasanta (Lucca). He obtained a degree in piano at the Pietro Mascagni Music Institute in Livorno and completed his musical training with Marco Balderi and Ilio Barontini, and his composition studies with Gaetano Giani Luporini.
He won the award of the Laboratorio lirico di Alessandria for master collaborators and started out in the profession alongside Edoardo Müller. He works as a pianist and prompter in the most traditional lyrical Italian theatres, at the RAI in Milan, the Radiotélévision Suisse in Lugano, the Ente Lirico Giuseppe Verdi in Trieste and the Opera of Montecarlo, as musical stage director. He served as the master prompter at the Festival Maggio Musicale Fiorentino,under the direction of its conductor, Zubin Mehta. Among others, he has worked with Semyon Bychkov, Gennady Rozshdestvensky, Bruno Bartoletti, Myung-Whun Chung and Gianandrea Gavazzeni.
He has taught courses in the lyrical repertoire at the Arturo Toscanini Foundation in Modena and at the expression and vocal development workshops of Yva Barthélémy. As a pianist, he has collaborated with the Music Festival of Peralada and he has accompanied the masterclasses of Jaume Aragall, Montserrat Caballé, Raúl Giménez, Raina Kabaiwanska, Luciano Pavarotti, Arrigo Pola and Joan Pons.
He serves as a piano accompanist in opera and chamber music performances in the main global theatres and festivals of Spain, in Europe, the United States and Latin America, alongside artists such as Ainhoa Arteta, Montserrat Caballé, Mariola Cantarero, Fiorenza Cedolins, María Gallego, Maria Guleghina, Montserrat Martí, Rosa Mateu, Nelly Miricioiu, Elena Obratzova, Isabel Rey, Ana María Sánchez, Jaume Aragall, Josep Bros, Rockwell Blake, Carlos Chausson, Raúl Giménez, Àngel Òdena, Stefano Palatchi, Joan Pons, Juan Jesús Rodríguez...
