Spanish clarinettist Maximiliano Martín combines his position as Principal Clarinet for the Scottish Chamber Orchestra with solo performances, chamber music concerts, and expert classes around the world.

 

Martin has made his debut as a soloist and chamber musician at prestigious venues such as the BBC Proms Cadogan Hall and Wigmore Hall in London, the Library of Congress in Washington, the Laeiszhalle in Hamburg in Germany, the Radio Hall of Slovenia in Luibliana, the Durban City Hall in South Africa, the Palau de la Música in Barcelona, the Teatro Monumental in Madrid, the Auditorio Alfredo Kraus in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and the Auditorio Principe Felipe in Oviedo.

 

He has performed as a soloist with orchestras such as the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, the Symphony Orchestra of the Principality of Asturias, the Chamber Orchestra of the European Union, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of Galicia, the Philharmonic Orchestra of Gran Canaria and the Macedonian Philharmonic Orchestra, with conductors such as Brüggen, Ticciati, Antonini, Swensen, Zacharias and González. He collaborates regularly with ensembles and artists such as the London Conchord Ensemble, Cuarteto Casals, Francois Leleux, Pekka Kuusisto, Alexander Janiczek and Julian Milford.

 

His extensive list of recordings includes Mozart's and Weber's clarinet concertos with the SCO (LINN), Strauss's Duet Concertino with Ticciati / Whelan (LINN), two clarinet and piano recital CD's Fantasia and Vibrations of the Soul (LINN), Mozart's Divertimenti and chamber music by Beethoven featuring wind soloists from the Scottish Chamber Orchestra (LINN), not to mention Messiaen's Quartet for the End of Time with the Hebrides Ensemble (LINN), the Brahms Sonatas with Julian Milford (CHR), the Mozart and Brahms quintets with the Badke Quartet (CHR) and two albums with the London Conchord Ensemble, From Vienna (CHR) and St. Petersburg (Orchid Classics).

 

He collaborates as guest principal clarinettist with orchestras such as the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, the Philharmonic Orchestra of Bergen and the London Symphony Orchestra. He has worked with conductors such as Abbado, Haitink, Colin Davis and Mackerras, and was a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Spain (JONDE) and the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra (MJO).
