Pablo Márquez Caraballo is an organist at Valencia Cathedral and teaches harpsichord at the Higher Conservatory of Castellón. He studied composition, organ, harpsichord and early music at the conservatories of Valencia and The Hague with the professors Michel Bouvard, J. Willem Jansen, Pieter van Dijk, Fabio Bonizzoni, Patrick Ayrton and Ton Koopman. The Valencia Music Institute and the prestigious Huygens Scholarship of the Dutch Ministry of Education granted him a scholarship. Márquez has won several awards at interpretation and composition competitions, including the International Buxtehude Organ Competition in Lübeck, Germany.
In September 2017, he graduated cum laude with a PhD in history from the University of Valencia with the dissertation "The organs of Valencia Cathedral from the 16th-21st centuries. History and Evolution". He has collaborated abroad with several academies as a lecturer and guest professor, such as the lecture he gave at Cornell University, New York, regarding the influence of Valencian organ craftsmanship on the organ works of J. Cabanilles. Currently, Márquez combines teaching and research activities with an international concert career.
