Sarah Tynan has established herself as one of the leading sopranos of her generation, with complete mastery of the Baroque, Classical, bel canto, and contemporary repertoire. She regularly collaborates with leading opera companies, orchestras, and festivals throughout the UK, as well as at essential music venues worldwide. Among her recent and forthcoming performances, Sarah Tynan takes principal roles in Lucia di Lammermoor, Partenope, and The Merry Widow, as well as Euridice in Gluck's Orfeo ed Euridice. She also performs Romilda / Xerxes and Euridice / Orfeo in Philip Glass's works, Rosina in The Barber of Seville, soprano parts in The Seven Deaths of Maria Callas, and Pamina in The Magic Flute — all for English National Opera. Other roles include Pat Nixon in Nixon in China at Royal Danish Opera and Teatro Real, Merab in Saul for Glyndebourne on Tour, the Governess in The Turn of the Screw for Opera North, Despina in Così fan tutte for Opera Holland Park, Ginevra in Ariodante at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, and Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni for Welsh National Opera. She has also performed the title role in Semele for Boston's Handel and Haydn Society, and appeared in Britten's Les Illuminations at the Aldeburgh Festival. Concert appearances include The Creation with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra for Edinburgh International Festival 2018, Ännchen in Der Freischütz with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment under Sir Mark Elder, Messiah with The Sixteen, and The Seasons with the Gabrieli Consort.
