WIEN DRESDEN ENSEMBLE
from Wiener Philharmoniker and Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden
The musicians of the Wien Dresden Ensemble are members of the Vienna Philharmonic and the Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden. Sharing the same ideals of the tradition existing between Vienna and Dresden, they seek to put these standards into practice through the performance of chamber music. Under the direction of Dresden-born concertmaster Tibor Gyenge, like-minded colleagues from the two orchestras join forces on equal terms for diverse projects to be toured internationally. They are united by a common musical language and a shared style and conception of sound, in which chamber music plays a fundamental role. The ensemble will focus on masterpieces of the traditions of Vienna and Dresden, especially works that unite the two cities.
