A group of multitasking workers “rebels” from Friday to Sunday in the Auditorio de Tenerife’s La Salita theatre hall.
Auditorio de Tenerife presents in its La Salita hall the play Oveja perdida ven sobre mis hombros que hoy no solo tu pastor soy sino tu pasto también (Lost sheep, come to my shoulders. Today, I am not only your shepherd, but your nourishment too), written and staged by Argentine Playwright Brai Kobla. The shows will be performed on Friday (November 7) and Saturday (November 8) at 7.30 p.m., and on Sunday (November 9) at noon. The play is to be performed as theatre-in-the-round, with the audience standing around the stage and allowed to move freely during the show. After the first performance, the public will be invited to engage in conversation with the artists.
Winner of the Premio Especial Godoff and the award for best playwriting at the Bienal de Arte Joven of Buenos Aires, the show explores precarious work and the out-of-proportion productivity of modern society. Oveja perdida depicts a group of young freelancers who work remotely using their mobile devices and computers for a multinational corporation. Confronted with a cold, impersonal work environment, they come together to organise a collective protest. The play explores contemporary labour dynamics in multitasking societies, where the world feels both connected and fragmented.
The theatrical troupe Chamán Producciones is dedicated to creating works that explore new formats and forms of playwriting. Its members research new forms of dramatic expression and take to the stage subjects from everyday life. Since its formation in 2018, the troupe has collaborated with theatre professionals from Argentina and abroad.
In addition to the playwriting and direction of Brai Kobla, the troupe includes the executive production of Jorge Tesone, sound editing by Luis López Pinto, and photography by Andrea Aragón. The actors include Tesone, Tesona Marina Fantini, Luis Sorolla and Esther Sánz. The production features the collaboration of Iberescena and the Government of La Rioja.
