Ópera de Tenerife recorded a total attendance of 22,387 across all performances during the 2024–2025 season, marking a 7.7% increase over the 19,397 spectators during the previous year. Most of the audience attended the productions of Madama Butterfly, Giovanna d’Arco, Ariadne auf Naxos, and La bella Susona, which drew 12,766 spectators to the Symphony Hall at the Auditorio de Tenerife.
Minister for Culture of the Island Council of Tenerife, José Carlos Acha, points out: ‘The effort we are investing in opera at the Auditorio de Tenerife is starting to bear fruit. This season, we set an all-time record for subscribers, and now the overall results confirm this’.
Mr Acha maintains an optimistic outlook and is confident that these numbers will continue to rise. ‘We are about to embark on the most ambitious season in Ópera de Tenerife’s history, which leads us to trust that audience response will once again exceed our recent achievements’.
Ópera en minúscula (small-format opera), a new project launched at Espacio La Granja, opened the season and brought in 665 spectators. The baroque opera Giulio Cesare in Egitto at Teatro Guimerá drew 544 attendees, while Trouble in Tahiti saw 1,121 people across its four performances in the Chamber Hall of the Auditorio de Tenerife. This year’s family production, El retablo de maese Pedro, was enjoyed by 1,750 audience members. Once again, Ramón Gener served as ambassador for the Ópera de Tenerife season, and his five talks in the Chamber Hall were attended by 1,774 people.
