Ópera en minúscula

Ópera en minúscula (small-format opera)  was created to promote and disseminate small-format opera in Tenerife. For the first year of this initiative, we have selected a series of operas for soloists and ensembles. Several periods and styles are represented, from the acclaimed classics to the most avant-garde pieces and experimental works. This year’s performances range from well-known works of Kurt Weill to contemporary pieces of Spanish composers such as Madrid-born María Herrero and David del Puerto, the latter being a winner of the National Music Award. 

This first edition at the Espacio La Granja performing arts theatre will feature Mahagonny & The Seven Deadly Sins, by Kurt Weill, Cassandra or the Praise of Failure by María Herrero and “Alone with Marilyn” by David del Puerto. In addition, the group La Plaza is to offer several open-air performances at the Cultural Centre of the Canary Islands Government.
