Oskara
The Auditorio de Tenerife offers Oskara, by Kukai Dantza, winner of Best Dance Show at the 30th Huesca International Fair of Theatre and Dance (2016) and three MAX Awards: Best Costume Design, Best Cast, and Best Dance Show.
This project is the encounter between Kukai Dantza and Marcos Morau / La Veronal.
It is the coming together of two choreographic universes and two perspectives of dance that navigate between the most popular roots and the most avant-garde expression, proposing a new scenic universe on the national scene.
Oskara is an installation work that explores some landscapes of Basque culture, and myths, from its origins to the contemporary era, and they create a plastic and emotional journey of symbols and iconography with an ambiguous and disconcerting strength that, in the most absolute way, contains the history of the human experience within it.
The dramatic code points towards a show articulated by a language of marked abstraction, almost violent, where only the order in the compositions can provide certain sensory logic.
For Oskara, La Veronal is continuing its studies into the power of image through the position between the images themselves in a labyrinthine sketch that creates an appealing experience of stumbles and discoveries in the audience through the explosive encounter of dance, text, and image, and in which each individual will find their representation.
