Next Tuesday, the presenter will take a journey through the characters of this new title of Ópera de Tenerife
The Auditorio de Tenerife has scheduled a new talk by Ramón Gener for Tuesday (November 25), at 7.30 p.m., to explore the main features of the new title in the Ópera de Tenerife’s season: Adiós a la bohemia, which will be performed on December 5 and 6 at the Symphony Hall.
Gener will present the key features of this one-act opera composed by Pablo Sorozábal with a libretto written by Pío Baroja. This production by Donostia Musika, set to be performed at the Auditorio de Tenerife, features a theatrical prologue depicting a dialogue between both creators. The Catalan communicator will offer an enjoyable journey, with piano accompaniment, exploring the characters and themes of this opera, and the connection between the music composer and the librettist.
This is an intimate and melancholic production with moments of humour that reveal how captivating the lives of those who pursue their dreams can be, even when they do fall short. The work explores themes of failure, frustration, and the alienation that often follows. The continuous narrative blends seamlessly with the music and staging, built on the strong text by Pío Baroja and a musical score by Pablo Sorozábal that vividly expresses the emotions of the characters.
Born in Barcelona, Ramón Gener has a degree in humanities and business studies. He began his musical education at the Higher Conservatoire of Music of the Liceu at the age of six. After several years of performing as a baritone, he transitioned to a new role as a music educator. He offers lectures on opera, classical music, and art, which have been featured on radio and television, both locally and internationally. Gener has published four books: Si Beethoven pudiera escucharme (2013), El amor te hará inmortal (2016), Beethoven, un músico sobre un mar de nubes (2020) and Historia de un piano (2024).
