The American singer will perform with her quintet tomorrow in a concert that is already sold out.

The Auditorio de Tenerife is set to celebrate International Jazz Day tomorrow, Wednesday, April 30, at 7.30 p.m. in the Chamber Hall, with a concert that has already sold out. The programme features the American vocalist and composer Deborah J. Carter and her quintet, preceded by a performance from T. L. Mazumdar.

Deborah J. Carter, driven by her deep admiration for Ella Fitzgerald, presents “Ella-boration,” a sophisticated tribute that revisits and reinterprets some of Fitzgerald’s greatest recordings. This performance celebrates both her musical brilliance and her ongoing creativity in reshaping her music. As a singer and composer, Carter has developed a unique style of contemporary jazz performance. In this concert, she will be accompanied by a quintet featuring drums, double bass, piano, and saxophones.

Born in the United States, she grew up between Hawaii and Japan. From a very young age, she dedicated herself to music, forming a trio with which she performs at numerous shows and jazz festivals and on radio and television programs in countries such as Germany, England, Spain, Holland, Belgium, Latvia, Myanmar and Azerbaijan, Saudi Arabia, Japan, India, among others. Her passion for music spans several fields; she is a singer, composer, and arranger and has a strong interest in music education.

L. Mazumdar, also known as EveryNowHere, is a singer-songwriter, composer, and producer who grew up in North Africa, the United Kingdom, India, and Germany. Born to a young couple of doctors who were passionate about travel, Mazumdar left India at just seven months old. He spent the following years living between Libya, the United Kingdom, and continental Europe.

The next jazz event at the Auditorio de Tenerife will take place on 10th May, featuring French cellist Matthieu Saglio. He will perform in the Chamber Hall with his quartet and his brother Camille, who will provide vocals for this concert, presenting their latest album, Voices.
