This Sunday´s concert will feature performances by the Güímar, Granadilla and Santiago del Teide ensembles.
The Auditorio de Tenerife hosts this Sunday, 11 May, the performances of the wind bands from Santiago del Teide, the ensemble ‘Amigos del Arte’ from Güímar and the band ‘José Reyes Martín’ from Granadilla. The event begins at 11.30 a.m. and is part of the eighth event in the Primavera Musical cycle, organised by the wind bands federation ‘Federación Tinerfeña de Bandas de Música’ with the support of the Tenerife Island Council.
The wind band ‘Patronato Amigos del Arte’ from Güímar, whose roots go back to the mid-19th century, will open the programme in the Chamber Hall. Under the baton of Benigno González Coello, the 60-strong ensemble will perform Lake of the Moon by Kevin Houben and Gloria Stafette, arranged by Peter Kleine.
The Tenerife Federation of Wind Bands has invited the José Reyes Martín Band from Granadilla to take part this Sunday. Under the direction of Miguel Ángel Arrocha Rodríguez, the ensemble will present three works: the pasodoble A mi madre by Roque Baños, A Discovery Fantasy by Jan de Haan, and Immer Kleiner by Adolf Schreiner. Iker Rodríguez Antolín will appear as the soloist for this concert.
The concert will conclude with a performance by the municipal band of Santiago del Teide, an ensemble with over three decades of history. Led by Jorge Pujol Fumero, the wind band will perform Virgen de la Macarena by The Canadian Brass / Calvin Custer, Hindenburg by Michael Geisler, and El gato con botas [Puss in Boots], arranged by Francisco Zamora.
The ninth concert in the Primavera Musical cycle will be held on 18 May, bringing together the wind bands ‘Virgen de la Luz’, ‘Ernesto Beteta’, and ‘Unión Musical Aída’ from Guía de Isora, Santa Úrsula, and San Andrés (Santa Cruz), respectively, in the Chamber Hall at the Auditorio de Tenerife.
