The concert includes works by Bach, Schubert, Scriabin, Schumann and Liszt
The Auditorio de Tenerife will present a concert by Serbian pianist Bogdan Dugalic next Tuesday (September 16) at 7 p.m. in the Chamber Hall. Dugalic will make his debut on the Island after winning the Málaga International Piano Competition last June. For his first performance in Tenerife, the musician will offer a programme featuring works by Bach, Schubert, Scriabin, Schumann and Liszt.
21-year-old Dugalic, born in Belgrade, will perform a recital that opens with the Toccata in C minor by Bach, followed by the Wanderer Fantasy by Franz Schubert and the Fantasy in B minor by Alexander Scriabin. The second half of the recital comprises two pieces: Fantasiestücke Op.12 by Robert Schumann and ends with Mephisto Waltz No. 1 by Franz Liszt, a work he also played at the Málaga competition, where, besides the top prize, he was awarded the Audience Prize, the Chamber Music Prize, and the Junior Jury Prize.
Bogdan Dugalic is currently studying under Professor Pavel Gililov at the Mozarteum University of Salzburg and with Professor Konstantin Bogino at the Perosi Academy in Biella. Besides his achievements in Málaga, he has earned over 30 prizes in both national and international contests, including first prize and Audience Prize at the 11th International ‘Memorial Isidor Bajić 2023’, as well as second prize plus the Chamber Music prize at the 2022 Maj Lind International Piano Competition (2022).
Dugalic’s collaborations are a testament to his versatility, with performances ranging from the Mariinsky Symphony, Helsinki Radio Symphony, Norwegian Radio Orchestra, Málaga Philharmonic, Serbian Radio Orchestra, Belgrade Symphony, Royal Strings of Saint George, to the Kamus and Gerhard Quartets. He has worked under the baton of conductors such as Valery Gergiev, Anna Maria Helsing, Dorian Keilhack, Eivind Aadland, Bojan Suđić, and Srboljub Dinić, among others.
His performances have spanned across Europe and Asia, from the cultural hubs of Serbia, Japan, Russia, Finland, Norway, Estonia, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, France, Portugal, Spain, to the historical Macedonia. He has played on stages of renowned concert halls such as the Mariinsky Concert Hall (as part of the ‘Stars of the White Nights’ festival), Berlin Philharmonic, Grand Hall of the Moscow Conservatory, Helsinki Music Centre, Stormen Concert Hall, Cervantes Theatre, Belgrade Philharmonic Hall, Ilija M. Kolarac Foundation, Sava Centre, and many others.
