Sunday concert features over 100 musicians
This Sunday (May 3), the Auditorio de Tenerife will host the Primavera Musical cycle, featuring a concert by the wind bands Nueva Unión (Los Silos), Isorana (Guía de Isora), and José Reyes Martín (Granadilla), starting at 11.30 a.m. in the Chamber Hall. Entry is free until the total capacity is reached.
The century-old band Agrupación Musical Nueva Unión is set to open the concert with a selection of three pieces. The 45 musicians, led by conductor Juana María Bolaños Polegre, will perform De la Terra by María José Balaguer Dolz, alongside Alvamar Overture by James Barnes and Dixieland Jam by Bob Lowden.
The ensemble Agrupación Musical Isorana, established in 1958 in Guía de Isora, returns to Primavera Musical under the direction of Ana Gloria Carvajal Rodríguez to perform three pieces: I Will Survive by Dino Fekaris and Freddie Perren (arranged by Ron Sebregts), Can’t Take My Eyes Off You by Crewe and Gaudio, and El bote by Saúl Gómez Soler.
The final performance of the concert features the wind band Sociedad Cultural José Reyes Martín (Granadilla), an entity with a history spanning over 150 years. Led by conductor Miguel Ángel Arrocha Rodríguez, the programme includes La ruta del Cid (David Rivas) and Pacific Dreams (Jacob de Haan).
Established in 2005, the concert cycle ‘Primavera Musical’ is an initiative by the Tenerife Wind Bands Federation in collaboration with the Tenerife Island Council. The next event will be on 10th May, featuring performances by the wind bands Ernesto Beteta of Santa Úrsula, of La Victoria and Fasnia.
