Synopsis
For Tchaikovsky, fate is no mere abstraction: it is an almost tangible force. In the Fifth Symphony, it returns as a recurring motif, shaping the musical narrative at every turn. The work moves through darkness, lyricism and heroic resolve, tracing one of the most compelling emotional journeys in the symphonic repertoire.
Alexander Melnikov, one of today’s most distinctive pianists, joins the orchestra for Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1. Though one of the composer’s best-known works, the concerto has remarkable emotional depth, in which dazzling virtuosity becomes a vehicle for longing, conflict, and ultimately expansion.
The evening opens with the Interlude from Goyescas by Enrique Granados, a miniature of refined melancholy and theatrical atmosphere. Under Ana María Patiño-Osorio‘s direction, the Sinfónica de Tenerife presents a programme where beauty emerges from struggle and hope gradually overcomes the weight of destiny.

Pre-concert talk
The Tenerife Symphony Orchestra will offer a pre-concert talk at 6:30 p.m. in the Sala Avenida (in the auditorium lobby) by Cristina Arnay, from the Tenerife Association of Friends of Music (ATADEM). Admission is free until capacity is reached.
Tickets
Access to the hall is not permitted once the doors are closed for the event to begin.
Access is only allowed to those over five years of age.
