Sinfonía con órgano
Synopsis
This programme celebrates the freedom of colour, gesture and instrumental imagination. It opens with Fauré’s Pavane, a work of serene elegance whose subtle melodic grace permeates every phrase.
The violinist Svetlin Roussev is the soloist in two works of exceptional character: Chausson’s Poème, a score of distilled lyricism and veiled atmosphere, and Ravel’s Tzigane, a rhapsody of dazzling virtuosity that transforms Romani inspiration into pure instrumental fantasy.
The second half culminates in Saint-Saëns’s Symphony No. 3, the celebrated ‘Organ Symphony’. Monumental in conception, the work allows the orchestra to expand until it becomes a vast sonic cathedral. The entrance of Juan de la Rubia at the organ unleashes a wave of physical and emotional resonance, transforming the finale into an overwhelming blaze of splendour.
The programme moves from French refinement to instrumental brilliance, and overwhelming orchestral grandeur.
