The ensembles taking the stage at the Auditorio are from Güímar, El Tanque, Tejina (La Laguna) and San Andrés (Santa Cruz)

This Sunday (June 14), the Wind Bands Federation ‘Federación Tinerfeña de Bandas de Música’ presents a concert as part of the Primavera Musical cycle. The wind bands Amigos del Arte (Güímar), Santísimo Cristo de El Calvario (El Tanque), Crearte (Tejina, La Laguna), and Amigos del Arte (San Andrés, Santa Cruz) will perform at 11 a.m. in the Chamber Hall of the Auditorio de Tenerife. Entry is free until capacity is reached.

Founded in the mid-19th century, the music band of the cultural association Patronato Amigos de Arte de Güímar, under the direction of Benigno González Coello and with 60 members, will open this Sunday’s concert with three pieces: Leonesse by Bert Appertmont, King Arthur by Hans Zimmer (arranged by Erick Debs), and Cyrano by Otto Schwarz.

The wind band Agrupación Musical del Santísimo Cristo de El Calvario from El Tanque will arrive at the Chamber Hall with more than three decades of history. Its 45 members, under the direction of José Eduardo Morales, will perform Churriana by Rafael Moreno Morente, Es Vedrá by José Alberto Pina, and Sway by Michael Brown.

The third band to take the stage this Sunday is Asociación Cultural Crearte of Tejina, founded in 2012. Under the direction of Cristina Doro García, the 47 members of the group will perform Olympiada by Samuel Robert Hazo, The Falcon of Egypt by Rossano Galante, and Frank Sinatra Hits Medley by Naohiro Iwai.

The Amigos del Arte music band, with over 50 years of history, has established itself as a cultural cornerstone in Santa Cruz’s San Andrés neighbourhood. This group will wrap up this week’s concert. Under the direction of Juan Antonio Domínguez Martín, the 30 performers will arrive at the Auditorio to play a programme featuring Córdoba by Isaac Albéniz, Yorkshire Ballad by James Barnes, and Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End by Hans Zimmer.

The last concert of this year’s Primavera Musical cycle will be held on June 21, again at 11.00 a.m., with performances by the wind bands La Candelaria (Arafo), Filarmónica de Los Realejos, El Salvador (La Matanza) and, as guest ensemble, the band of the Patronato Insular de El Hierro.
