Mozart + series: primavera 2026 – otoño 2027
“I have long wanted to devote time to Mozart’s piano sonatas, and I have always questioned the widely held belief that these outstanding works are overshadowed by his piano concertos, often regarded as less original, less inspired and less compelling than their symphonic counterparts.
This series seeks to challenge that perception by placing the many facets of this remarkable repertoire alongside works by other composers. In doing so, it reveals both the contrasts with Mozart’s piano writing and, perhaps more subtly, the affinities that connect them. From the transparency, elegance and wit of Poulenc, through the vocal and operatic worlds of Chopin and Weber, to Beethoven’s dramatic language and his mastery of variation form, all these threads can be heard woven into Mozart’s piano sonatas.”
