The concert features works by Kresiler, Rachmaninoff, Ravel, Falla, Schubert, Liszt and Chopin
Next Tuesday (29th), at 7.30 pm, the Auditorio de Tenerife will welcome Russian pianist Elizaveta Ukrainskaia to its Chamber Music Hall for a recital entitled Contrastes musicales (Musical Contrasts). The pianist will be making her debut on the island following her victory in the third edition of the City of Málaga International Piano Competition last June. For her Tenerife recital, Ukrainskaia has chosen a programme featuring works by Kreisler, Rachmaninoff, Ravel, Falla, Schubert, Liszt and Chopin.
The 29-year-old Russian pianist has won prizes at numerous international competitions, including the 9th Sendai International Piano Competition (Japan, 2025), the Palma d’Oro International Piano Competition (Germany, 2021), the 18th Delphic Games (Russia, 2019), the RNCM James Mottram International Piano Competition (England, 2018) and the International Piano Competition in Bremen (Germany, 2016). In 2022, she was awarded the Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli Prize at the Eppan Piano Academy in Italy. She also attended the Verbier Festival Academy in 2021 and 2023, receiving special prizes on both occasions.
In 2020, she graduated from the St Petersburg Conservatoire, where she studied under Professor A. Sandler, and received the Best Graduate Award, presented annually to just one musician at the institution. She currently teaches piano and chamber music at the same conservatoire and is working towards a doctorate.
