LA QUIJÁ
Synopsis
Auditorio de Tenerife presents the show La Quijá, by Paloma Muñoz, as part of its Mapas programme.
The starting point is the image of a rocky, arid landscape devastated; at the same time, the need to return to origins and to the body as the driver of creation, with the intention of seeking poetry in movement. This is an inward journey towards the very substance residing in our bones so that dance may emerge from the marrow. A return to the collective body in search of a personal and shared encounter. A show within Cèl·lula, a project for the production, creation and transmission of dance within the structure of the performing-arts centre Mercat de les Flors.
La Quijá is a work with 10 dancers that begins with the image of a rocky, arid landscape devastated, with the need to return to origins and to the body as the driver of creation, seeking poetry in bodies in motion.
This is an inward journey, towards the very substance residing in our bones so that dance may emerge from the marrow. A return to the body not only as an individual but as a group in search of a personal and shared encounter.
