The event takes place this Sunday at 12 noon in the Auditorio’s theatre space, with free entry.

Tenerife Island Council presents Delirium Teatro. 40 años delirando, a book celebrating the forty-year journey of the Tenerife-based company. The event will take place this Sunday (November 30) at 12 noon in La Salita at the Auditorio de Tenerife. In addition to a conversation about the publication, there will be musical interludes. Entry is free until the total capacity is reached.

The event is part of 40 Delirios, a project hosted by Auditorio de Tenerife celebrating the troupe’s four decades of professional experience. It comes on the heels of several conferences, a dramatized reading, a commemorative exhibition and the premiere of the play Libros cruzados, which is on tour at this time.

The presentation of Delirium Teatro. 40 años delirando is to begin with a performance by pianist Julio Tejera, followed by a conference featuring Severiano García, Soraya González del Rosario, the troupe’s founding members, Ediciones Antígona editor Conchita Piña, and Raquel Toste, the journalist involved in the project. After the conference, Tejera is to return to the stage to accompany singer Silvia Criado.

The book Delirium Teatro. 40 años delirando celebrates and examines four decades of artistic experiences through reviews, reflections and hilarious anecdotes. The work takes a closer look at the creative processes, challenges, and revelations that have influenced the troupe’s development, taking readers backstage for an intimate recounting of the staging of each work, as well as the interpretative risks and aesthetic decisions that have shaped the troupe’s career.

Numerous works of Delirium Teatro have been awarded in Spain and abroad. They have been performed in the archipelago and at exhibitions, fairs, and festivals in many countries, including Portugal, Cuba, Cape Verde, Argentina, Colombia, Tunisia, and Venezuela, as well as in the Spanish autonomous communities of Madrid, Andalusia, the Basque Country, Galicia, and Asturias.
