24º Intercentros Melómano
Synopsis
The Auditorio de Tenerife is hosting the Canaries Regional Phase of the 24th Intercentros Melómano (Performance Prize for Soloists) under the Professional Degree category.
The auditions will involve pupils from the professional conservatoires of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in different instrumental specialities. In collaboration with the Auditorio de Tenerife, the event will host performances of up to 15 minutes with a freely chosen repertoire. After the performances, the jury deliberates and subsequently awards the diplomas. The first person to be classified will represent the Canary Islands in the final phase of the competition.
The Intercentros Melómano is an initiative of the Fundación Orfeo (www.fundacionorfeo.com), created in 2002 to encourage pupils from music conservatories to participate in professional competitions actively. The idea is to provide practical experience for musicians, facing an audience and a jury that assesses their performance, not only their technical skills.
