19 Jan 20:00
Music/Festival de Música de Canarias
 Auditorio de Tenerife (Sala Sinfónica)

Joining Festival Internacional de Música de Canarias [Canary Islands International Music Festival] as usual, Orquesta Filarmónica de Gran Canaria takes part with a FIMC’s in-house production: Verdi’s 'Requiem'. They will perform under the baton of the orchestra’s conductor, British maestro Karel Mark Chichon and Kaunas State Choir (Lithuania), along with great soloists like Bryn Terfel (bass ), Marianna Pizzolato (mezzo soprano), Mariangela Sicilia (soprano)  and Celso Albelo (tenor).

With this performance the Festival stages one of the major works of the symphony-choral repertoire. Even though it is an oratorio, it is also dubbed as one of Verdi’s “best operas”. A spectacular piece composed by an agnostic Verdi that portrays, as Ch. Osborne puts it, "his tragic view of the human condition ".
