Synopsis

Toda una vida is a musical and emotional journey that tells the story of the life and career of artist Chago Melián, one of the most beloved and recognisable voices in Canarian music. Conceived as an intimate yet profoundly evocative show, the concert is a retrospective of Melian’s repertoire over the years and, at the same time, a collection of songs that have been etched into the sentimental memory of the public over several generations.

With its carefully selected repertoire, Toda una vida features canción melodica (light song), folk-rooted popular music, bolero, copla (Spanish popular song) and sounds associated with the collective imagination of the archipelago. It reveals the expressive breadth of a performer who has crafted his art by drawing on popular emotion, onstage elegance and a deep love for his homeland. More than a recital, the show is intended to be a celebration of life, artistic calling and the capacity of music to conserve memories, affection and inner landscapes.

Chago Melián’s onstage presence transmits serenity, proximity and truth. In this concert, he will share with spectators a mature and appreciative look back at the path he has travelled. He will be accompanied by musicians with fine sensitivity in a format that showcases Melian’s lyrics, performative skills and direct connection with the public. Toda una vida is a tribute to memory, shared emotion and a career built on authenticity, elegance and deep roots. It is an encounter with the voice, experience and inner world of an artist who has become an essential part of Canarian musical culture.
