Music/Sinfónica de Tenerife
 Auditorio de Tenerife (Symphony Hall)

It is considered that when Beethoven composed Symphony No. 9, music changed forever. For the first time, a symphony embraced the human voice to proclaim a universal message: joy, a brotherhood of man, the common pursuit of freedom and dignity, the ‘Glory of Humanity’. Two centuries later, it still shines as a beacon of hope for the ages.

The first performance of the evening is the world premiere of a new work by Nino Díaz, composed for tuba, percussion and orchestra. This unusual combination challenges traditional concepts of instrumentation and proposes new forms of orchestral language for the 21st century.

Pablo González conducts the Sinfónica de Tenerife in this celebration of Beethoven’s visionary approach to music. Accompanying them are the exceptional vocal quartet with María Espada, Cristina Faus, Airam Hernández and Sebastià Perisand, as well as the choir Coro Titular Ópera de Tenerife-Intermezzo in this interpretation of one of the most transcendental hymns in the history of music.
