He was born in Moscow into a family with a well-established musical tradition. His concerto debut came at the age of eight, moving right after to the UK to study at the Yehudi Menuhin School. Highlights of his concerto performances include London Philharmonic, Academy of St. Martin’s in the Fields, Royal Philharmonic, Philharmonia, BBC Scottish Symphony, Konzerthaus Orchester Berlin, Moscow Symphony, St Petersburg Symphony, Russian State Philharmonic, Polish Radio Symphony, Yomiuri Nippon Symphony, etc. He is also regularly invited as guest soloist with orchestras touring the UK, including Novosibirsk Philharmonic, Brussels Philharmonic, and the Tonkünstler Orchester. He was awarded 1st prize at the Trio di Trieste Duo Competition alongside pianist Wu Qian. He also received the Lincoln Center Emerging Artist Award of New York. Alexander is a founding member of the Sitkovetsky Piano Trio, performing all over Europe including Alte Oper Frankfurt, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Wigmore Hall and Auditori de Barcelona.
