Higher Diploma in Music, Percussion speciality from the Higher Music Conservatoire of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, degree as a percussionist and a higher percussion teacher from the National Art School of Havana, Cuba.
He holds a doctorate in Art History, Cum Laude Honours, from the University of La Laguna. Artistic Director of the Ritmos Handmade International Percussion Festival. Masters in Project Management and Cultural Spaces, from the Personal University of Seville, Circle of Dynamic Outreach Studies. Masters and Diploma in Advanced Studies in Open Stages: multiculturalism in art and music from the Faculty of History of Art at the University of La Laguna. Certificate in Pedagogical Aptitude, from the Institute of Education Sciences of the Complutense University of Madrid. Since 2003 he has taught at the Professional Music Conservatoire of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, and since 2005 at the Municipal Music School of Puerto de la Cruz.
As a performer, he obtained 1st Place at the XV PERCUBA International Percussion Competition. He has collaborated with several groups, notably including the Tenerife Symphony Orchestra, as well as in endless artistic projects: The Didactic Concerts of the MAPFRE Foundation Guanarteme, the travelling concert programme of the Caja Canarias Foundation, 12th edition of the Jazz Festival Munilla – La Rioja, 5th Jazz Festival La Laguna, 2nd International Jazz Festival Semilla in La Palma, the Music of the World - Hidrosfera Festival, etc. He has taught percussion courses at the Music School of Arona, Music School Guillermo González in La Laguna, Music School of Alajeró – La Gomera, Music School of Valga – Galizia, Music School of Las Rosas – Madrid, Musikene – Musikene - Higher Music Centre of the Basque Country, among others. Rodríguez also has an endless number of recordings, both as a collaborator and session musician, as well as his own albums: Viaje de Ida y Vuelta (Round Trip) (2013), Prisma (Prism) (2019).
