The professional life of Andrés Cea Galán is a combination of performing, music research, and teaching. He trained in Spain, France and Switzerland and has a PhD from Universidad Complutense de Madrid. His many publications mainly deal with aspects of the performance of music for keyboard and the history and aesthetics of the organ in the Hispanic world. His ever-renewed view of the repertoire has earned him frequent invitations to give concerts, as teacher and speaker in festivals and academic institutions across Europe, South America, Mexico and Japan. He has made several recordings which have been distinguished by specialised critics. He also often works as advisor for different official organisations in projects to restore organs. He teaches at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Sevilla, Academia Internacional de Órgano Julián de la Orden in Cuenca; he is the president of Instituto del Órgano Hispano and corresponding member of the Real Academia de Ciencias, Artes y Buenas Letras Luis Vélez de Guevara.
