Ariel Brínguez

SAXOPHONIST, COMPOSER AND ARRANGER

A saxophone player, composer and arranger, a graduate of the University of Arts of La Habana (Cuba). He obtained two American Grammy Awards collaborating with Chucho Valdés, for the album ‘Tributo a Irakere: live in Marciac’ (2017), and with Alejandro Sanz for the album ‘El Tren de los momentos’ (2009). Winner of a Latin Grammy collaborating on the album ‘Voyager’ by Iván ‘Melon’ Lewis  (2021) for the best Latin jazz album.

Brínguez has played with musicians as renowned as Tata Güines, Changuito Quintana, Maraca y Otra Visión, David Murra and Nat King Cole in Spanish, Simply Red, Javier Colina, Niña Pastori, Paquito D’Ribera, Ketama and Miguel Zenón, among others. With three albums released –‘Raíces en colores’ with which he won the Opera Prima award in 2009, ‘Experience’ (2017) - he is currently on tour with ‘Nostalgia cubana( 2016).
